With thanks to SM, who says “I am posting this to show how ridiculous the present approach to illegal dumping is. These bags are dumped not one hour after the place was cleaned up. The DCC staff that cleared and cleaned the area did a great job but it does not stay clean or waste free for very long. I am just astonished that no undercover surveillance can be put in place ready to hand out fines and get in touch with landlords to make sure that proper facilities are in place for waste disposal and inform them about the activity of their tenants. There are effective measures to deal with this that are not complicated. You have to wonder why some measures are not put in place, and wonder whether the need of the greater public is the primary concern with the institutions charged with looking after the city…Looking after the city for the people! There is something amiss!”
