With thanks to SmcG, who says “Someone had a great weekend. It’s been argued that illegal dumping is about poverty. These bags are filled with empty booze cans. I see this a lot around dumping areas, the argument doesn’t hold up and it does a disservice to genuinely struggling people. It is antisocial behaviour..”
With thanks to CW, who says “Reported several times by email and Fix My Area to DCC, abandoned overflowing bin – no bar code, and lots of broken glass, rubbish behind it…no one wants take it away it seems!”

With thanks to SmcG, who says “I think the residents are entitled to them. Four years now without a strategy, a plan or even an answer. This has all happened under the watch of DCC, it’s due to orchestrated neglect, bad planning, zero regulation and from officials burying their heads in the sand, content to let other people endure it, there would be much more attention given to this mess if it was on the doorstep of other areas. When are people going to wake up. this spreads, the reputation of the whole north inner city is on the toilet, and this is one of the reasons why, a byword for neglect. I really want to know what is going on. The pictures are representative of the entire area leading up to Gardiner St, it starts at the DCC housing areas where DCCs own residents do little to hide what they are doing. Doesn’t DCC have a duty to maintain the areas outside of their own premises? Well they’re not. All the information is below. I’d like some meaningful feedback. FOUR YEARS ON, for Christ sake!”

with thanks to SmcG, who says “DCC know who the culprits are, this is from the units on this street, I haven’t even bothered taking photos of the constant rubbish dumped here. You have to ask why nothing’s been done to deal with the dwellers here. They have destroyed the place and if it was happening in other areas there would be something done about it. Disgraceful.”

With thanks to SmcG, who says “One of the only premises that leaves out its waste legally at the Summerhill/NCR junction, and what happens? Greyhound doesn’t collect it. A useless sorry excuse for waste management we have in this city. How long will DCC continue to bury its head in the sand and not face up to its responsibility? The place is still filthy.”
